Firefly
A few days ago I was bored and felt like watching a T.V. show, the only problem was I had know idea of what I felt like watching. So first I turned on the T.V. to see if I could find anything that interested me. After unsuccessfully browsing through hundreds I was unable to find anything that I felt like watching. So after that failed attempt to please my wanting mind I went to the computer. I have Netfix so I can also use their watch instantly function to watch movies or T.V. shows on my computer. While browsing things to watch on Netflix to watch instantly I found a few things that I might take interest in but nothing I really wanted to watch at that moment at least not until I saw this one show. The show I found was Firefly from Joss Whedon. I was reluctant at first because it seems like everyone who likes his work is extremely obsessed with him and his work. He is best known as the creator of the very popular T.V. series Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So I was reluctant because I thought his work might be overrated and I thought people were weird for being so obsessed with a T.V. show. I was eventually won over so I decided to give his show Firefly a shot. It was a mix so some genres I like, Science Fiction and Westerns. After watching the first episode I was amazed. I thought it was very funny, interesting, and hat a lot of great characters. Also it didn't take itself to seriously. While it was serious it definitely found time to appropriately place humor in the situation to make it even more enjoyable. Since watching that first episode I quickly watched the next couple of episodes. As of now I only have about three episodes left in the show. The show is 14 episodes long. So overall I am pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed this show as much as I did and now I am in the mood to look for more Science-Fiction T.V. shows. For some reason before this show I never really thought of watching Science-Fiction T.V. shows. I guess I always assumed that they wouldn't be action packed or filled with cool special effects. In a way that is true because of limited budgets these types of T.V. shows do not have the money for all that kind of stuff. So basically this show made me want to watch some more Science-Fiction T.V. shows that show a different style of Science-Fiction that is more about characters and themes than special effects and action, even though it does have both.
